Well I was able to get everything working with SyncMyCal and now I have a perfect sync setup IMHO.  Here's what I've done: Google Calendar (all three of them) are my master.  I've used that for over a year to enter every event/appointment/etc. so I wanted to start there to grab all events. A friend recently saw my laptop and asked what all those crazy things were on the side of my desktop and at the bottom of my web browser and where to get them.
