Lindsay Skiing

This was our ski trip to Okemo Mountain in Vermont with a bunch of friends for New Year's this year. Lindsay took lessons for 1.5 days and then skied with me the rest of the time. For being her first time out, she picked it up extremely fast and made great progress. By the third day she was skiing blue square runs with ease, although scared to death ;-)

Sparks Fall 2008 Dance Show - Stop-Motion Video

Here's a stop-motion video compiled from 623 photos from the Sparks Dance Show last weekend.  Enjoy! In case you were wondering how I made this, I used iMovie on my mac.  It was really easy -- just create a new project, add all of the photos directly from Aperture (or iPhoto), set the duration to .5s each photo, drag a song from iTunes to add music, and export!

With the 4th of July right around the corner, most Americans will be viewing a fireworks show somewhere.  Last year was the first year I had an SLR camera (Nikon D40x - which I love btw) so it was the first time I could really take pictures of the fireworks.  It was a great learning experience for me.  I read some articles before I went out to get some ideas, but it really just came down to trial and error.  ...
