Swurl
Saturday, July 5th, 2008 Posted in Technology | No Comments »I just started using a new site called Swurl. Essentially it's just another aggregator of content from various social networks around the web. But this one is more than just that. Like others, it has "Lifestream" which gathers updates from all of the sites you give it access to. The feature I like best about this one, though, is the Timeline feature which shows your lifestream in a calendar view. The user homepage (aka a given user's lifestream) is also laid ...
Dopplr is Amazing
Monday, June 30th, 2008 Posted in Technology, Travel | No Comments »I started using Dopplr about a month and a half ago and I have to say: it is incredible! Since I already use my Google calendar to keep track of all my travel details (see blog post below about SyncMyCal Mobile), I didn't want to have to enter my travel locations someplace else, too. I've had some issues here and there but overall it does the trick -- gets my Google Calendars downloaded into my AT&T (HTC) 8525 Windows Mobile 6 phone. The biggest issue I've had with the software, though, is that it takes all 3 of my Google Calendars (Personal, Work, and Travel Schedule) and puts it into the single ...
Why do we share so much about ourselves online?
Wednesday, June 4th, 2008 Posted in Technology | No Comments »My mom recently (earlier tonight) asked if I had Google'd myself recently. Being the tech-geek I am, I had done so within the last few weeks. She was amazed to find all of my "away messages" and "personal" information at the top of the search results. She questioned me about why I shared so much and she didn't think it was a good idea. I tried to briefly explain but it just didn't make sense to ...
